Job summary

Turners in Germiston is seeking a proactive Machine Operator to safely run production equipment, deliver on the production plan, and uphold quality standards while maximizing cost efficiency and equipment effectiveness.

Based in Boksburg with a local scope, the role requires AM inspections, reporting deviations, and collaboration with maintenance and quality control to prevent defects. Experience with lathes, manual and CNC machines, and reading blueprints is highly valued.

Qualifications

• A relevant trade qualification such as a National Certificate in Engineering Studies is preferred.
• Practical experience operating lathes and precision machinery is highly valued.
• Proficiency reading technical drawings is a common requirement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain machinery to prescribed standards and cleanliness.
• Understand materials properties and perform correct adjustments on equipment.
• Coordinate with maintenance and quality control to achieve zero defects.
• Carry out product and size changeovers while protecting the production plan.
• Follow Start-Up/Shutdown procedures and safety guidelines.
• Document losses and issues in related systems and escalate as needed.
