Job summary

Sage is seeking a Practice Success Consultant to guide Forum Accountants through the migration from desktop Sage solutions to Sage cloud offerings. You will build trusted relationships, drive cloud adoption, and identify opportunities to expand value from Sage solutions.

Based in Johannesburg with a hybrid model (3 days/week in-office), you will help accountants modernize their practices, ensure customer success, and contribute to revenue growth by increasing product adoption and customer

Qualifications

• Bilingual with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent telephone etiquette and customer engagement skills.
• Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• 3–5 years' experience with Sage Small Business products, including SBCA and Sage 50.
• 3–5 years' experience using SBCA Accountants Edition.
• Strong relationship management, consultative selling, and customer success skills.
• Ability to influence, educate, and support customers through change and technology adoption.

Are you passionate about helping businesses embrace digital transformation and unlock new opportunities through cloud technology? As a Practice Success Consultant (Forum Accountants), you will play a pivotal role in guiding accounting practices from traditional desktop solutions to Sage's innovative cloud ecosystem.

This role is focused on building trusted relationships with Forum Accountants, driving cloud adoption, supporting their digital transformation journey, and identifying opportunities to expand the value they receive from Sage solutions. You will act as a strategic advisor, helping accountants modernize their practices while ensuring long-term customer success, retention, and growth.

Location - 3 days per week out of our Johannesburg office.

Cloud Adoption & Digital Transformation

• Identify and drive opportunities for Forum Accountants to transition from Sage desktop solutions to Sage cloud offerings.
• Guide accountants through their digital transformation journey, providing expert advice and tailored recommendations.
• Demonstrate the business benefits and long-term value of Sage cloud solutions through consultative engagements.

Customer Success & Relationship Management

• Manage and grow a portfolio of Forum Accountants currently utilizing Sage desktop products.
• Build strong, trusted relationships through proactive account management and ongoing business support.
• Maintain regular engagement with accountants who are not yet ready to migrate, ensuring high retention and future cloud readiness.
• Conduct strategic business reviews to understand customer needs and align Sage solutions with their business objectives.

Revenue Growth & Business Development

• Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities across the Sage product portfolio and value-added services.
• Partner with customers to uncover challenges and recommend solutions that drive efficiency, productivity, and business growth.
• Support revenue growth by increasing product adoption and maximizing customer lifetime value.

Brand Representation & Industry Engagement

• Represent Sage at accountant forums, industry events, networking engagements, and customer meetings.
• Serve as a trusted advocate for Sage, strengthening relationships within the accounting community and promoting Sage's market-leading solutions.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential

• Bilingual with strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• 3 to 5 years' experience working with Sage Small Business products, including Sage Business Cloud Accounting (SBCA) and Sage 50.
• 3 to 5 years' experience using SBCA Accountants Edition.
• Strong relationship management, consultative selling, and customer success skills.
• Ability to influence, educate, and support customers through change and technology adoption.

Advantageous

• Experience working with Forum Accountants.
• Sage Intacct Certification.
• Sage 300 People Certification.
• Experience in cloud migration, digital transformation, or customer success environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (BCom) or an Advanced Diploma in a related field.

• Work away scheme for up to 10 weeks a year.
• Life Insurance: 2x annual salary covered with the option to flex up cover at own cost up to a maximum of 6X annual salary.
• Income Protection: 75% of the monthly risk salary is paid to the colleague in the event of long-term sickness, provided they are unable to perform their duties.
• Critical Illness cover: Provides colleague with lump sum payment at critical illness diagnosis.
• Funeral Assistance: A benefit payable upon the death of a colleague's spouse or children, or to a colleague's dependents in the event of the colleague's death.

• 15 days annual leave for fixed term colleagues and 20 annual leave days for permanent colleagues. The annual leave entitlement for permanent colleagues will increases with seniority. 30 days sick leave in a 3 year cycle, 6 days of Family responsibility leave and Religious leave combined, and 5 or 10 days of sports leave based on representation.
