Senior Accountant Marketing Manager, AME

As our Senior Accountant Marketing Manager for Africa & the Middle East, you'll play a pivotal role in strengthening Sage's position within the accounting profession and helping businesses thrive through one of our most influential routes to market.
In this role, you'll own the accountant segment marketing strategy across the region, spanning both Sage for Accountants, our scalable engine for accountant acquisition, engagement and advocacy, and Sage Intacct for Accountants, our proposition for high‑value practices. You'll create programmes that drive engagement, advocacy, customer acquisition and long‑term growth. You'll partner with senior stakeholders across Sales, Product Marketing, Commercial, Growth and Performance Marketing to deliver campaigns that make a real commercial impact.
Overview of the Team
You’ll be part of Sage's regional Performance Marketing organisation, working closely with talented colleagues across Africa and the Middle East. Together, we develop customer‑centric marketing strategies that drive awareness, demand generation, customer engagement and retention.
You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external industry stakeholders, helping to shape how Sage engages with accountants, bookkeepers, accounting practices, professional bodies and industry influencers across the region.

Hybrid Working - 3 days per week in our Johannesburg office and 2 days from home.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop and execute the Accountant Marketing Strategy across Africa and the Middle East, spanning both direct acquisition and growth of accounting practices.
- Scale demand through paid media, partnerships, referral and advocacy programmes.
- Design and run account‑based marketing programmes for priority accounting firms and practices.
- Build MDF and co‑marketing programmes that equip accountants with the campaigns, assets and incentives to recommend Sage to their client base.
- Create integrated marketing programmes that drive qualified pipeline, customer acquisition and revenue growth.
- Build strong relationships with accounting firms, bookkeeping practices, professional associations and industry influencers, deepening practice level advocacy.
- Lead Sage’s presence at accountant‑focused events, webinars, conferences and industry forums.
- Work with our campaign hub to develop thought leadership content that addresses key accountant challenges and industry trends, including materials accountants can use with their own clients.
- Partner with Performance Marketing teams to optimise campaign effectiveness and maximise ROI.
- Influence senior stakeholders and provide strategic guidance on accountant growth opportunities.
- Own funnel governance and segment performance reporting, delivering actionable insights and recommendations to regional leadership.
Experience you’ll bring
- 10+ years' experience in B2B marketing within technology, SaaS, financial services or professional services environments.
- A solid understanding of account‑based marketing, defining target account strategies, personalising at account and persona level, and aligning marketing and sales around named accounts.
- Proven success delivering integrated demand generation campaigns with measurable commercial outcomes.
- Experience marketing through an advisor, influencer or partner channel, not only direct to end customers.
- Strong strategic marketing planning, execution and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Experience influencing and engaging senior leaders across matrix organisations.
- Strong analytical skills with experience managing budgets, KPIs and marketing performance metrics.
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship‑building skills.
- Experience managing multiple priorities across different markets and stakeholder groups.
- A customer‑first mindset with a strong commercial focus.
