Placements24 is seeking a knowledgeable Power Systems Engineer to contribute to critical infrastructure projects in Queenstown. You will design, analyze, and operate electrical power systems to ensure reliable energy distribution and support regional development.

The role involves planning, implementing, and maintaining power infrastructure, with emphasis on load flow, protection schemes, and substations. A minimum of five years in power systems and proficiency with PSS/E, ETAP, or DIgSILENT

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a Power Systems specialization.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical power systems engineering.
Experience with power system protection and control systems.
Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).

Responsibilities

Perform power system analysis, including load flow, short circuit, and stability studies.
Design and specify components for high-voltage substations, transmission, and distribution networks.
Develop and review protection schemes and relay settings for power systems.
Ensure compliance with national and international electrical codes and standards.
Manage the technical aspects of power system projects from inception to completion.
Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues related to power system performance in Queenstown.
