Job summary

DRA Projects is seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Engineer to join our engineering team in Woodmead. The role focuses on electrical power systems design and analysis for EPCM/EPC projects, supporting both local and international assignments.

The candidate will perform studies, protection analysis, and provide technical input across project phases, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and assisting with procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning.

Qualifications

Degree or BTech in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 5 years' experience in power systems and protection studies.
Strong expertise in load flow, short-circuit studies and motor starting.
Proficiency with ETAP and/or DIgSILENT software; generator systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

Perform detailed electrical power systems design and analysis.
Conduct power system studies: load flow, short circuit, motor starting, stability.
Carry out protection studies, design and implementation.
Provide input for studies, proposals, and project documentation.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and drafting teams.
Review vendor/contractor design information for accuracy.
Support site teams during installation and commissioning.
Assist in managing procurement packages and project handover.
Support international projects with adherence to standards and quality.
