Placements24 is seeking a meticulous and analytical Power Systems Analyst to join the George-based energy division. The role focuses on ensuring reliability, stability, and efficiency of the electrical grid by analyzing power flow, system performance, and risks.

You will work with network engineers and operations teams to mitigate challenges and support energy services in the region. The ideal candidate has a strong quantitative skillset, at least 5 years of experience in power system analysis

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
At least 5 years of experience in power system analysis or operations.
Proficiency in power system simulation software (PSS/E, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
Strong understanding of grid codes, load forecasting, and protection schemes.

Responsibilities

Conduct detailed power flow studies and system stability analyses to evaluate network performance.
Identify potential system constraints, vulnerabilities, and areas for improvement within the electrical grid.
Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance grid reliability and minimize outages.
Monitor real-time system performance, analyze data, and provide timely reports to management.
Collaborate with engineering teams on the planning and integration of new generation sources and transmission infrastructure.
Participate in incident investigations and provide technical expertise to resolve system disturbances.
