Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee daily operations at a power plant in Mahikeng. You will manage a team of plant operators and technicians, coordinate shift activities, monitor performance, and ensure safe, reliable generation.

The ideal candidate holds a National Diploma or Bachelor’s in Engineering and has at least 5 years in power plant operations, including 2 years in a supervisory role, with strong leadership and safety knowledge.

Qualifications

• Requires National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in power plant operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Strong understanding of power generation processes, equipment, and control systems.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
• Excellent knowledge of industrial safety practices and emergency response procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of power plant operators and technicians during assigned shifts.
• Monitor plant operations, performance metrics, and key equipment to ensure optimal efficiency and output.
• Enforce strict adherence to safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company policies.
• Respond to operational issues and emergencies, directing response efforts and coordinating with relevant personnel.
• Oversee logbook entries, operational reports, and documentation of plant activities.
