Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Power Generation Plant Operator for their East London facility to manage and monitor operations, ensuring safe, efficient and reliable power generation.

The role requires operating turbines, generators and associated systems, performing routine inspections, and maintaining logs while adhering to safety standards. Candidates should have at least 3 years' experience and a high school diploma, with technical certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or vocational training preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Power Plant Operator or in a similar industrial operations role.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, P&IDs, and operational procedures.
• Strong safety consciousness and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor power generation equipment, including turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems.
• Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
• Respond effectively to abnormal operating conditions, alarms, and emergencies to ensure plant safety and stability.
