Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to support power generation equipment in the Mossel Bay region. You will install, maintain and repair diverse units at client sites, working independently with strong diagnostic abilities to ensure uptime and customer satisfaction.

The role requires hands-on expertise, reading technical diagrams, and excellent communication to provide clear service reports and guidance on equipment operation.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or N6 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent trade qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Field Service Technician, preferably in power generation.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical diagrams and manuals.
• Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on power generation equipment (generators, turbines).
• Install and commission new equipment, ensuring proper setup and functionality.
• Diagnose equipment failures and implement effective repair solutions timely.
• Conduct routine inspections and provide detailed service reports to management and clients.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures during field operations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients on equipment operation and maintenance.
