Job summary

Placements24 is assisting a family in Vereeniging, Gauteng, South Africa, by sourcing an experienced Maternity Nanny to support the newborn in the postnatal period. This contract role expects compassion, discretion, and professional infant care in a home setting.

The nanny will manage feeding support, sleep routines, health monitoring, and guidance for new parents, while performing light nursery duties and maintaining a safe, tidy environment.

Qualifications

Extensive experience as a Maternity Nurse or newborn nanny with verifiable references.
Specialized training in newborn care or postnatal support is highly desirable.
CPR and Infant First Aid certifications are mandatory.

Responsibilities

Provide expert care for a newborn, including feeding, diaper changes, bathing and soothing.
Establish and maintain healthy sleep and feeding routines for the infant.
Monitor the baby's health and development and alert parents to concerns.
Educate and support new parents on infant care, feeding techniques and safe handling.
Perform light nursery duties and maintain a tidy, safe sleeping environment.
Offer emotional support to the mother during the postnatal period.
Adhere to the family's parenting philosophy and household guidelines.
