Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Live-Out Nanny in Vereeniging, Gauteng, to care for a newborn and toddler (0-2 years). The role requires substantial infant/toddler experience and a warm, proactive caregiver who fits into the family's routine.

Requirements include 5+ years of professional infant care, certified Infant and Child CPR and First Aid, strong communication, references, and eligibility to work in South Africa.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience caring for newborns and toddlers.
• Certification in Infant and Child CPR and First Aid is mandatory.
• Demonstrated knowledge of infant development, feeding practices, and sleep routines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide verifiable references from previous childcare roles.
• Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa.
• Willingness to undergo a background check.
• High school diploma or equivalent; further childcare qualifications are a plus.
• Non-smoker preferred.

Responsibilities

• Providing comprehensive care for a newborn and a toddler, including feeding, bathing, dressing, and diapering/potty training.
• Establishing and maintaining consistent routines for feeding, sleeping, and playtime.
• Planning and implementing age-appropriate developmental activities to stimulate cognitive, motor, and social skills.
• Ensuring the safety and well-being of the children at all times.
• Preparing nutritious meals and snacks suitable for infants and toddlers.
• Light housekeeping duties related to the children, such as cleaning and organizing their rooms and play areas, children's laundry.
• Documenting daily activities, feeding logs, and developmental milestones.
• Communicating effectively with parents about the children's progress, needs, and any concerns.
• Accompanying children on walks or to age‑appropriate outings when appropriate.
• Administering medication as prescribed by a physician, with parental consent.
