Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacy Somerset seeks a Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant to support the dispensary under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist. You will assist with dispensing, stock control, and patient care while delivering excellent customer service.

Requirements include Grade 12 with at least 50% in Maths/Science, a Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant Qualification, and computer/numerical skills. Advantageous: Unisolv and E-Scripting.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Mathematics (HG), Life Science and/or Physical Science with at least 50% average.
• Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant Qualification.
• Computer and numerical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform services under direct personal supervision of a Pharmacist in the dispensary.
• Sell Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 medicines.
• Assist with compounding, preparation, or manipulation of medicines under SOPs.
• Re-packaging and stock control of medicines.
• Read and prepare prescriptions, label, and supply medicines following pharmacist evaluation.
• Provide patient instructions and health information.
