Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacy in Table Bay, Cape Town, is seeking a Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant to work under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist in the dispensary and provide excellent customer service.

You will assist with dispensing Schedule 1 and 2 medicines, stock control, prescription preparation, patient instruction, and adherence to MAPL and SAPC requirements, ensuring accuracy and safety.

Qualifications

• Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant Qualification.
• Grade 12 Mathematics (HG), Life Science or Physical Science with at least 50% average.
• Computer and numerical skills.
• Registered with Pharmacy Council.

Responsibilities

• The sale of Schedule 1 and 2 medicines.
• Assist with compounding/preparation of medicines under supervision.
• Re-packaging and stock control of medicines.
• Read and prepare prescriptions with correct labeling and supply.
• Provide patient instructions and health information.
• Maintain patient profiles and process medical aid claims.
• Ensure accuracy of scripts and obtain pharmacist sign-off.
• Assist with stock takes and FIFO merchandise.
• Adhere to SOPs, MAPL and health-and-safety standards.
