Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Supply Chain & Logistics Manager to lead operations in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. The role focuses on optimizing procurement-to-delivery flows, driving efficiency, and reducing costs while ensuring timely execution.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of global supply chains, inventory management and logistics operations, with 7+ years in the field and 3+ years in management. A strategic leader capable of shaping SCM strategy is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field; master's preferred.
• 7+ years in supply chain & logistics with 3+ years in a management role.
• Experience in manufacturing or production environments.
• Strong negotiation, supplier relationship & contract management skills.
• Proficiency in ERP/WMS/TMS software.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage comprehensive supply chain and logistics strategies.
• Oversee inventory management, warehousing and distribution.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers, carriers and 3PL providers.
• Optimize transportation routes to reduce costs and improve delivery times.
• Ensure compliance with trade regulations, customs and safety standards.
• Monitor supply chain performance with key metrics and take corrective actions.
• Collaborate with production, sales and procurement to align activities with business goals.
• Lead and develop the supply chain team to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Implement and utilize SCM software to enhance visibility and control.
• Identify and mitigate risks to ensure business continuity in Port Elizabeth.
