About the Role

Our client, the governing body responsible for the bustling port operations in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal , is seeking a highly organized and experienced Port Authority Sanitation Manager. This critical role ensures the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental compliance across all port facilities, including terminals, warehouses, offices, and public areas. You will lead a dedicated team of sanitation personnel, manage resources effectively, and implement robust cleaning strategies to maintain a safe and operational environment for thousands of port users daily. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of industrial cleaning in high-traffic environments, regulatory compliance, and waste management protocols specific to port operations. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive sanitation and waste management plans for all port areas.
• Oversee daily cleaning operations, ensuring all facilities meet stringent hygiene and safety standards.
• Manage, train, and schedule a large team of cleaning staff, fostering a productive and safe work environment.
• Conduct regular inspections of port facilities to identify and address any sanitation issues or non-compliance.
• Procure and manage inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and machinery.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations, maritime standards, and health codes.
• Develop and implement waste reduction and recycling programs within the port.

Requirements
