Job summary

Phoenix Recruitment seeks an experienced pool maintenance attendant to handle daily pool care across multiple facilities. The role covers cleaning, chemical handling, filtration maintenance, and quick response to issues to ensure guest satisfaction.

Candidates should have matric with a relevant pool care background and the ability to communicate clearly under pressure. Hotel or property maintenance experience is advantageous; this is an on-site position in Franschhoek.

Qualifications

• Matric Certificate required or equivalent.
• Certification in pool/spa chemical handling beneficial.
• 2+ years handyman experience with pool servicing preferred.
• Experience with cleaning, filtration and pool maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Attend to all pool related issues and basic maintenance.
• Vacuum pools and keep them sparkling clean.
• Test pool water daily and record readings.
• Report leaks and pool issues immediately with data sheets.
• Maintain facilities and equipment around pools in good order.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly and minimize disruption.
• Minimize damage, loss of tools and supplies; ensure safety.

Job description

Duties:

• Attend to all pool related issues especially the basic pool maintenance


• Vacuuming the pool whenever they are dirty, ensuring all pools are sparkling clean at all times


• Report all pool issues and leaks immediately and record all values and readings on the daily check sheets


• All pool water must be tested daily


• Ensure that the facilities and equipment in and around the pools are well maintained and in good working order


• Perform and complete all duties with minimal interruption and inconvenience to guests and the service operation


• Responds to maintenance requests in the minimum possible time


• Reduce any accident or damage to equipment, loss of tools and supplies


• Adhere to Health and Safety standards

Requirements:

• Matric Certificate


• Valid drivers license


• Certification or qualification in pool and spa pool care and use of chemicals beneficial


• Minimum of 2 years general handyman experience and in pool servicing in particular


• Highly experienced in cleaning, filtration and maintenance of swimming pools


• Good knowledge of pool chemicals and basic electrical repair


• Knowledge of pool pumps, filters and pool heating pumps


• Hotel or property maintenance experience would be advantageous


• Able to communicate with other accurately and timely to ensure speed and quality of services


• Must be able to work under pressure with attention to detail


• Ability to capture data and reports
