Job summary

Red Ember Recruitment is seeking a Pool Technician for one of our Clients in Stellenbosch. You will perform basic pool maintenance, testing water daily, and ensure pools are sparkling clean to exceed guest expectations.

The role requires at least 2 years' pool servicing experience, knowledge of pool chemicals, and the ability to work under pressure in a luxury hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' pool servicing experience.
• Experience with cleaning, filtration and maintenance of pools.
• Knowledge of pool chemicals and safe handling.
• Able to capture data and produce reports accurately.

Responsibilities

• Attend to all pool related issues and basic maintenance.
• Vacuum pools and ensure water is sparkling clean.
• Test pool water daily and record readings.
• Maintain equipment around pools and report issues.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly to guests.

Main Responsibilities

• Attend to all pool related issues especially the basic pool maintenance.
• Vacuuming the pool whenever they are dirty, ensuring all pools are sparkling clean at all times.
• Report all pool issues and leaks immediately and record all values and readings on the daily check sheets.
• All pool water must be tested daily.
• Ensure that the facilities and equipment in and around the pools are well maintained and in good working order.
• Perform and complete all duties with minimal interruption and inconvenience to guests and the service operation.
• Responds to maintenance requests in the minimum possible time.
• Reduce any accident or damage to equipment, loss of tools and supplies.
• Adhere to Health and Safety standards.

Requirements

Experience and skills:

• Minimum of 2 years' general handyman experience and in pool servicing in particular.
• Highly experienced in cleaning, filtration and maintenance of swimming pools.
• Good knowledge of pool chemicals and basic electrical repair.
• Knowledge of pool pumps, filters and pool heating pumps.
• Hotel or property maintenance experience would be advantageous.
• Able to communicate with other accurately and timely to ensure speed and quality of services.
• Must be able to work under pressure with attention to detail.
• Ability to capture data and reports.

Inherent Requirements:

• Matric Certificate.
• Valid driver's license.
• Preference will be given to candidates from Franschhoek and neighbouring areas.
• Certification or qualification in pool and spa pool care and use of chemicals beneficial.
