Job summary

Isilumko Staffing is looking for an experienced Platform Tech Lead in Bellville, Cape Town. You will provide senior technical leadership across a large-scale intermediary digital platform environment, driving technical strategy and architecture while ensuring high-performing solutions.

The successful candidate will collaborate with Product, Design, and business stakeholders, mentor engineering teams, and promote innovation and engineering maturity.

Qualifications

• 12–15+ years’ software engineering experience.
• Strong experience in senior technical leadership or engineering management roles.
• Proven experience leading multiple engineering teams or enterprise-scale technical domains.
• Strong architectural and systems design expertise.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of Agile and modern engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the platform technical strategy and roadmap.
• Lead architecture and technical decision-making across multiple teams.
• Ensure scalable, secure, and resilient platform solutions.
• Mentor and develop Tech Leads and senior engineers.
• Drive engineering standards, best practices, and operational excellence.
• Manage technical risks, dependencies, and delivery alignment.
• Partner with Product, Design, and business stakeholders on strategic initiatives.
• Lead large-scale platform modernisation and transformation initiatives.
• Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and engineering maturity.
