Job summary

Sabenza IT & Recruitment is seeking an Engineering Lead in Cape Town to guide the IT engineering function and shape technology strategy. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with Product, Technology and stakeholders, and drive platform design, development and optimization for performance, reliability and security.

You will work with cloud platforms and modern frameworks while translating business needs into effective technical solutions and leading delivery with cost discipline and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Proven software development and technical leadership experience delivering complex projects.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to guide engineering teams.
• Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns and best practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and modern development tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering collaboration and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute the technical roadmap.
• Drive design, development and optimization of platforms for scalability and security.
• Provide technical guidance to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

• Partner with Product Managers to align business needs with technical execution.
• Implement best practices to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
