Job summary

Vista in Cape Town is seeking a System Engineer (Platform Infrastructure) to maintain Vista Cloud and VMS security, availability and performance. You will build and monitor hosted cloud environments and drive continuous improvement of security posture.

The role emphasizes operational support, security operations management, and coordinating with global teams to ensure high-quality security outcomes for Vista’s services.

Qualifications

• BSc/BA or equivalent in IT/business is preferred.
• Strong server admin experience and infrastructure knowledge.
• Understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and domains.
• Experience with security best practices and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with DevOps, IaC pipelines, and deployment processes.

Responsibilities

• Understand current scales of containers, VM scales, VMs, DB pools and app services, resizing as needed.
• Monitor and scale environments weekly and manage unused assets and IaC templates.
• Lead security incident response and feed findings back into system design.
• Provide security guidance and technical support for Vista Cloud staff and stakeholders.
• Train internal teams and act as escalation point for security events.
• Review work quality with the Head of Cloud Operations and other managers.
