Job summary

Implats is seeking a Sampling Shift Leader to monitor and control sampling operations, coordinating with Plant Shift Leaders, Foremen and maintenance teams to ensure safe, accurate sampling processes.

You will ensure quality control procedures are followed, organize training for personnel, and escalate defects promptly while maintaining equipment standards and good housekeeping across the sampling area.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/Std 10 with Mathematics and Physical Science or NQF 4 equivalent is essential.
• Plant specific training modules is essential.
• 1-2 years sampling shift leader experience is essential.
• 1-year handling process samples in the processing environment is essential.
• Experience in plant operation and equipment is advantageous.
• Valid Medical Certificate or be medically fit to obtain such a certificate.

Responsibilities

• Liaises effectively between the production Plant Shift Leaders, Plant Foremen and Engineering Foremen.
• Escalates sampling equipment defects and deviations to the relevant line supervisor.
• Ensures sampling shift duties are conducted accordingly.
• Ensures that all personnel including new and ex-leaves are adequately trained.
• Oversees all sampling activities.
• Ensures all quality control procedures are followed.
• Ensures good housekeeping of sampling equipment is maintained.
• Ensures sampling equipment standards are maintained.
• Ensures samples integrity is always maintained.
• Interacts with all internal and external customers.
• Interprets laboratory assay results data to identify any shortcomings in both sampling methodology and quality control.
• Ensures all work is conducted safely
