Job summary

Placements24 invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join a George-based plant science research group focused on novel agricultural technologies and crop resilience through advanced genetic and physiological studies.

You will design and execute research protocols, analyze complex datasets, and contribute to sustainable agriculture in the Western Cape, working with experienced scientists in a modern facility and a supportive academic environment.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Plant Science, Agronomy, Genetics, or related field.
• Experience in plant molecular biology or genetics research.
• Proficiency with bioinformatics tools for genomic data analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication for scientific reporting and presentations.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in George, Western Cape.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent research on plant genetics, physiology, or molecular biology.
• Design and perform experiments using advanced greenhouse and laboratory techniques.
• Analyze and interpret large-scale genomic and phenotypic data.
• Prepare manuscripts for publication in high-impact scientific journals.
