Design and conduct experiments to study crop physiological responses to abiotic stresses (drought, heat, salinity). Investigate plant-water relations, photosynthesis, and nutrient uptake mechanisms. Develop and test new crop varieties with improved physiological traits for enhanced stress tolerance and yield. Utilize advanced analytical techniques and instrumentation for physiological measurements. Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data, preparing detailed research reports and publications. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including breeders, agronomists, and environmental scientists.
Ph.D. in Crop Physiology, Plant Science, Agricultural Science, or a closely related discipline. Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral research experience in crop physiology. Proven track record of conducting independent research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals. Expertise in experimental design, data analysis, and statistical modeling. Hands-on experience with physiological measurement equipment (e.g., gas exchange systems, chlorophyll fluorometers). Strong written and oral communication skills for presenting complex scientific information.
