Job summary

UPL in Durban, South Africa invites applications for an Operator. The role focuses on formulating AI? according to BOM procedures, handling hazardous goods, and maintaining OEE, CCP, RFT, and yields while meeting daily production targets.

The Operator will oversee packing lines, operate semi-automated filling equipment, ensure accurate labeling, maintain quality, and work under Team Leader supervision with a strong emphasis on SHEQ and 5S compliance.

Qualifications

• Matric as minimum requirement.
• 3 months on-the-job training specified.
• 3 years of plant operations experience required.

Responsibilities

• Operates non-pressurised vessel on analogue controls.
• Safe handling of hazardous and flammable materials within routine processes.
• Overseeing packing assistants, optimizing and troubleshooting in the work centre.
• Responsible for process efficiencies on allocated work centre (P v A, OEE, CCP, RFT, yields).
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving minor operational issues with Team Leader or Maintenance.
• Ensure quality assurance and oversee line operators for the work centre; mentor as needed.
• Adhere to SHEQ and 5S standards; participate in sampling procedures as applicable.
• Record production data accurately, including quantities and equipment status.
• Operate semi-automated filling machine and ensure correct labelling and packing.
