Job summary

MyCareerCraft is seeking a hands-on Plant Machine Operator (Permanent) in Port Elizabeth to support production by operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.

You will keep machines running efficiently, produce quality output, and help reduce downtime while following safety and housekeeping standards.

The role requires Grade 12 and up to 3 years in manufacturing, with basic mechanical skills and computer literacy; training provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) is required.
• Up to 3 years' experience in manufacturing or production.
• Basic mechanical understanding and fault-finding ability.
• Familiarity with production processes and machine operation.
• Basic computer literacy (MS Office / production systems).

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up production machines in line with standard operating procedures.
• Monitor machine performance to ensure consistent product quality and output.
• Perform basic maintenance and assist repairs to prevent breakdowns.
• Identify faults and resolve issues quickly to minimise downtime.
• Maintain production records, logs, and job cards.
• Ensure all safety, housekeeping, and compliance standards are followed.
• Support cost control by reducing waste and reporting any issues.
