Job summary

Morton Moore Financial Services seeks a Mechanical or Electrical Technician to join the plant maintenance team in KwaZulu-Natal. The role focuses on improving equipment reliability, supporting maintenance planning, and ensuring safe operations.

Requirements include a National Diploma / BTech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or N6 with experience) and 3-5 years in a maintenance tech role within heavy industry, plus CMMS familiarity. Training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or BTech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or N6 with relevant trade experience).
• Strong fault-finding and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to maintenance teams on mechanical or electrical plant equipment.
• Diagnose complex equipment faults and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and update preventative maintenance schedules and task lists.
• Carry out condition monitoring, such as vibration analysis, thermography or oil analysis.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance work, shutdowns and equipment overhauls.
• Prepare technical specifications for spares, equipment and plant modifications.

Education
