Job summary

Standard Bank Group is seeking a seasoned Plain Language Editor to shape and manage the delivery of clear, customer-friendly communications for SBIB and SIL. You will ensure tone, style and plain language consistency across consumer, corporate and regulatory materials.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of plain language experience, strong English grammar and advanced Word skills, and a track record in regulated environments. Formal plain language training is highly regarded.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in plain language review and editing.
• Experience translating complex insurance/legal terminology into customer-friendly language.
• Experience working in a regulated environment.
• Strong English language, grammar, editing and document review skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Word skills, including track changes, document formatting and version control.
• Formal training in Plain Language.

Responsibilities

• Shape and manage the delivery of plain language services for SBIB and SIL.
• Ensure consistent tone, message, and plain language across customer, executive and internal communications.
• Support regulatory compliance and the consistent application of plain language principles.
