Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies Optenhorst store in Paarl offers a fixed term Dispensary Support learner position to complete the learner basic pharmacist assistant course and seek SAPC registration; permanent employment may follow on qualification.

Under direct supervision, you will assist with the sale of Schedule 1 medicines, stock control, packing and labeling, script interpretation, patient service calls and adherence to SOPs and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with Pure Mathematics 50% and Life Science/Physical Science 50% average.
• Proficiency test required for SAPC registration as learner basic assistant.
• Ability to work under direct supervision and follow SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Sell Schedule 1 medicines or scheduled substances under supervision.
• Assist with preparation of non-sterile medicines per SOPs.
• Unpack, merchandise and clean dispensary shelves and OTC areas.
• Assist with stock control, expiry dates and labeling accuracy.
• Follow up with patients and script tracking as directed by the dispensary manager.
