Dis-Chem Pharmacies Linden Lanes is offering a fixed-term Dispensary Support role to learners aiming to become registered as a pharmacist assistant. The position emphasizes on-the-job learning under pharmacist supervision, focusing on accurate dispensing support, stock control, and customer service.

The role requires completion of a learner basic pharmacist assistant course and successful proficiency tests for SAPC registration.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 – Matric or a Senior Certificate with Pure Mathematics 50%, Life Science and/or Physical Science and obtained at least an average of 50%.
• Proficiency test approving them to apply for registration with Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a learner basic assistant.
• Registration with Pharmacy Council SAPC as a learner basic pharmacist assistant.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the sale of Schedule 1 medicines under direct personal supervision of a pharmacist.
• Assist with compounding, manipulation or preparation of non-sterile medicines per formula and SOPs.
• Unpack and merchandise stock and clean dispensary shelves and OTC areas.
• Follow up with patients regarding script tracking and appointments as directed by the dispensary manager.
• Provide information to individuals to promote health.
• Assist with scheme authorization of chronic, HIV/AIDS and oncology medication.
• Ensure accurate picking/packing/labeling and check medications with a pharmacist.
• Report stock levels and errors to the dispensary manager.
• Receive dispensary stock per SOP.
• Handle call centre scripts and patient service calls.
