Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is seeking a Pharmacist Assistant to support the dispensary team in Cape Town. You will assist in the sale and preparation of medicines under the supervision of a pharmacist, process prescriptions, and help with stock management and patient education.

Essential qualifications include Grade 12, Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification, SAPC registration, and computer proficiency. The role requires strong numeracy and English plus a second language, with retail hours.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/Matric is required.
• Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification and SAPC registration are essential.
• Experience with Unisolv and MS Office, good numeracy and language skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sale of Schedule 1–5 medicines under pharmacist supervision.
• Assist with compounding/preparation of non-sterile medicines per SOPs.
• Assist with dispensing, labeling, and patient instructions.
• Assist with stock control, ordering up to Schedule 6 as instructed.
• Accurately interpret prescriptions and verify patient details in the system.
• Maintain patient profiles and process medical aid claims and paperwork.
• Support dispensary manager with stock takes and reporting.
