Job summary

Clicks Group’s UniCare 24 Hour Pharmacy in Parklands, Cape Town, seeks a Pharmacist for night and day rotations after community service. You will provide high standards of pharmaceutical care, accurate dispensing, and professional counselling to patients.

The role reports to the Dispensary Manager and focuses on stock management, staff training, and collaboration with clinics to broaden healthcare offerings while maintaining SAPC compliance.

Qualifications

• B Pharm Degree required.
• 2 Years experience after Community Service.
• SAPC knowledge and compliance with legal requirements.
• Client-focused patient care and professional counselling.

Responsibilities

• Provide high standards of pharmaceutical care and safe dispensing, including generic substitution and SAPC-aligned practice.
• Efficiently run dispensary operations: stock management, shrinkage control, housekeeping and admin per SAPC and company standards.
• Oversee training and development of Pharmacist Assistants and Interns in line with SAPC requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and healthcare departments to extend patient services.
• Support the Group’s vision by upholding company values and delivering excellent customer care.

Introduction

Unicare Parklands is currently seeking to appoint a Pharmacist – Through The Night and Day (Post community service) that is passionate about customer service. The role will be based at Unicare 24 Hour Pharmacy in Parklands and will report to the Dispensary Manager.

Duties will include but not limited to:

• To provide high standards of pharmaceutical care, accurate and safe dispensing, including generic substitution, and the provision of advice in accordance with the UniCare way of working, good pharmacy practice and within the legal scope of practice as outlined by the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
• To efficiently execute all operational activities of the dispensary, including safe and responsible stock management, shrinkage, general housekeeping and administration in line with merchandising, SAPC regulations and company standards.
• To ensure competent and motivated employees by overseeing training and development of Pharmacist Assistants and Pharmacist Interns in line with SAPC requirements when required.
• To build and maintain sound working relationships with relevant stakeholders
• To ensure integration and partnership with the clinic and healthcare departments resulting in a full offering to customers regarding their healthcare needs
• To support the Group’s vision to be the customer’s first choice health and beauty retailer by living and driving the company values.
