Job summary

Netcare invites applications for a Pharmacist Intern who will support medication supply to patients and the healthcare team under supervision of a pharmacist. The role focuses on safe dispensing, patient counseling, and timely drug information within hospital and retail settings.

You will participate in oncology drug handling, total parenteral nutrition guidance, stock management, and clinical ward rounds, while upholding Netcare's care, truth, participation, compassion and dignity values.

Qualifications

• Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council.
• B.Pharm degree.
• Preferred: Intermediate computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Dispensing of prescriptions under the supervision of a registered Pharmacist and recording thereof.
• Advise patients on usage, side effects, interactions, and storage of medications.
• Assist with oncology drug handling and preparation, including Total Parenteral Nutrition guidance.
• Assist with stock control, distribution, and re-packaging of medicines.
• Participate in ward rounds and clinical pharmacy activities.
• Engage in quality assurance and risk management to comply with regulations.
