Qualifications

• Essential requirements: Grade 12 / Matric, BPharm – 4 year degree, Computer literate – MS Office.
• During degree work experience/holiday work advantageous.
• Registered with Pharmacy Council – South African or valid work permit (special condition).

Responsibilities

• Provide or perform services within the scope of a pharmacist's assistant under direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Read and prepare prescriptions, select, manipulate or compound medicines, and label for supply.
• Ensure accurate stock control and stock levels; maintain inventory and stock takes.
• Explain medication usage to patients and provide health information.
• Accurately interpret scripts and verify patient details in the system.
• Assist with dispensing, packaging, labeling and patient counseling as needed.
• Adhere to Dis-Chem policies, SOPs, and health and safety rules.
• General housekeeping and front-shop assistance.
