Essential Health Pharmacy Group is seeking Pharmacists for ongoing expansion in a retail setting. You will provide high standards of pharmaceutical care and dispensary services in line with Good Pharmacy Practice.

Minimum requirements include BPharm or equivalent, SAPC registration, and computer literacy. Willingness to work retail hours and strong customer service skills are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pharmaceutical care in a retail environment and dispense medicines.
  • Evaluate patient medicine-related needs for indication, safety and effectiveness.
  • Accurately interpret prescriptions and comply with SAPC requirements.
  • Dispense medicines and ensure patient compliance with therapy.
  • Provide pharmacist-initiated therapy and supervise dispensing processes.
  • Keep up-to-date with medical aid procedures and claims.

Job description

Essential Health Pharmacy Group is recruiting for Pharmacists. Due to ongoing expansion and growing of the business we are always seeking for new talent to join our exciting team.

You will be responsible for providing high standards of pharmaceutical care and dispensary services in accordance with Good Pharmacy Practice, in a retail environment.

Minimum Requirements:
  • BPharm or equivalent qualification
  • Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
  • Computer literate – MS Office
  • Billingual
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provision of pharmaceutical care by taking responsibility for all patients / customers medicine-related needs, and being accountable for meeting those needs, which shall include, but not be limited to the following functions:
  • Evaluation of a patient’s medicine-related needs by determining the indication, safety, and effectiveness of the therapy
  • Accurately interpret scripts and act in a professional and responsible manner, and within the legal requirements in accordance with the SAPC
  • Correct errors on scripts rejected by medical aid
  • Dispensing of any medicine or scheduled substance on the prescription of a person authorised to prescribe medicine
  • Determining patient compliance with the therapy, and follow-up to ensure that the patient’s medicine-related needs are being met
  • The provision of pharmacist-initiated therapy
  • The manufacturing of any medicine or scheduled substance, or supervision thereof
  • Keep abreast of changes in medical aid procedures and requirements for claims and dispensing
