About the Role
Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Manager to optimize their supply chain operations, with a key focus on the Polokwane region. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient, reliable, and cost-effective flow of pharmaceutical products from manufacturing to patients, while maintaining stringent quality and regulatory standards. You will lead initiatives to improve logistics, inventory management, and supplier relationships, contributing directly to the company's operational excellence and market presence. This hybrid role offers a blend of on-site oversight and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the pharmaceutical supply chain, including procurement, logistics, warehousing, and distribution.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels, reduce lead times, and minimize costs while ensuring product availability.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers, logistics providers, and distributors, negotiating contracts and service level agreements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant pharmaceutical regulations, such as Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and temperature control requirements.
- Utilize supply chain analytics to identify inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead and mentor the supply chain team, fostering a culture of efficiency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Implement and manage supply chain technology solutions to enhance visibility and control.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in supply chain management, with significant experience in the pharmaceutical or related regulated industry.
- Proven track record in optimizing pharmaceutical supply chains, including cold chain management.
- Strong knowledge of Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and international logistics.
- Proficiency with supply chain planning software and ERP systems.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
