Placements24 is seeking a Pharmaceutical Production Supervisor for our Soweto facility. You will lead a team of production operators, ensure GMP compliance, and drive daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced pharmaceutical environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of pharmaceutical manufacturing experience with at least 2 years in supervision.
• Extensive knowledge of GMP regulations and their application in pharmaceutical production.
• Proven ability to supervise production teams and manage daily operations.
• Willingness to work on-site in Soweto, Gauteng and support shift work if required.

About the Role

Our client, a reputable pharmaceutical manufacturer committed to producing high-quality medicines, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmaceutical Production Supervisor to oversee their manufacturing operations in Soweto, Gauteng . This hands-on role is critical for ensuring that all production activities are conducted in strict accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulatory requirements. You will lead a team of production operators, manage daily operations, and ensure the efficient and safe production of pharmaceutical products. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, a thorough understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, and a commitment to quality and compliance. This position requires a consistent on-site presence at our facility in Soweto to effectively manage and guide the production team.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage daily production activities within the manufacturing plant, ensuring adherence to production schedules and targets.
• Lead, train, mentor, and motivate a team of production operators to achieve high performance and quality standards.
• Ensure strict compliance with GMP, safety regulations, and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at all times.
• Monitor production processes, identify deviations, and implement immediate corrective actions to maintain product quality and process integrity.
• Oversee the proper operation and maintenance of production equipment, coordinating with the maintenance department as needed.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of all production batch records and associated documentation.
• Manage raw material inventory and ensure efficient material flow within the production area.
• Participate in quality investigations, root cause analyses, and implement CAPAs as required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing production efficiency, safety, and quality.
• Collaborate with other departments, including Quality Assurance, Warehouse, and Logistics, to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related scientific or technical field.
• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
• Extensive knowledge of GMP regulations and their application in pharmaceutical production.
• Proven experience in supervising production teams and managing daily operational activities.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
• Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping in a GMP environment.
• Must be willing to work on-site in Soweto, Gauteng , and potentially support shift work if required by operational demands.
