Placements24 is seeking a Production Chemist for a prominent pharmaceutical manufacturer in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. The role involves operating and maintaining chemical processing equipment, monitoring reactions, and ensuring GMP-compliant production of ingredients and finished products.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, with at least three years of production experience, and shows strong attention to detail, problem solving, and teamwork.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on experience with chemical processing equipment and instrumentation.
• Strong understanding of chemical reactions, separation techniques, and process control.
• Knowledge of GMP and safety protocols in a chemical plant setting.
• Ability to read, understand, and execute complex batch records and SOPs.
• Physical ability for manual dexterity and occasional heavy lifting.

Aufgaben

• Operate and monitor chemical production equipment, including reactors, distillation columns, and filtration systems, according to batch records and SOPs.
• Perform in-process testing and analysis to ensure reactions are proceeding as expected and product quality is maintained.
• Maintain accurate and detailed production logs, batch records, and equipment logs.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental policies, and GMP guidelines.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and equipment malfunctions, implementing timely solutions.
• Prepare and charge raw materials accurately for production batches.
• Clean and maintain production equipment to prevent cross-contamination and ensure readiness for subsequent batches.
• Collaborate with QA and QC to address production-related deviations or quality concerns.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, yield, and safety.
• Adhere to hygiene and gowning procedures within the production environment.
