Job summary

The Legends Agency is seeking an Automation Engineer to Durbanville Hills, responsible for designing process control and electrical systems while managing procurement, construction, commissioning and validation for pharmaceutical and biotech projects.

You will develop control philosophies, collaborate with process and mechanical teams, liaise with suppliers, and ensure GMP-compliant automation meets regulatory standards across multiple concurrent projects.

Qualifications

3–5 years of automation design experience.
Minimum 1 year of experience in pharmaceutical and/or biotech projects.
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (BEng/BSc Eng/B.Tech) required.
Proven experience designing GMP-compliant automation systems.
Demonstrated leadership of technical teams or major project packages.
Advanced technical expertise in pharmaceutical and biotech automation systems.
Strong understanding of GMP-regulated environments and regulatory compliance.
Strong leadership, mentoring capability, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design process control and electrical systems while managing procurement, construction, commissioning, and validation phases.
Develop control philosophies and schedules; collaborate with process and mechanical design teams.
Liaise with suppliers and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Oversee procurement and contracting tasks including issuing tenders and evaluating supplier designs.
Monitor site construction progress, quality, and OHS compliance; assist with commissioning procedures.
Prepare and assist in execution of validation protocols (RA, IA, IQ, OQ, FAT).
Critique supplier designs and integrate them into overall system designs.
