Placements24 is seeking a skilled Chemical Engineer specialized in petrochemicals to join our client's Richards Bay operations in South Africa. The role involves managing and optimizing complex chemical processes, ensuring safety and environmental compliance while driving continuous improvement in plant performance.

The successful candidate will hold a BEng in Chemical Engineering with at least four years in petrochemical or heavy chemical environments, with strong knowledge of distillation,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years in petrochemical or heavy chemical industry.
• Strong understanding of distillation, cracking, reforming.
• Familiarity with process control systems and SIS.
• Ability to work effectively in a plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and optimize petrochemical processes for yield and energy efficiency.
• Monitor process variables and troubleshoot deviations.
• Maintain safety protocols and environmental compliance.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations to ensure plant uptime.
• Participate in PHAs and implement safety improvements.
• Contribute to debottlenecking and process upgrade projects.
