Job summary

Absolute Pets are the leading pet specialist retailers in South Africa with over 200 stores nationwide. An opportunity has become available in our commercial department for a Pet Product Coordinator for a maternity cover who has strong project management skills, administrative abilities and is customer centric.

The person will assist stores in sourcing products for any customer requests and ensuring that the correct follow through has occurred to ensure the request has been filled.

Qualifications

• Experience in sourcing products and supplier liaison.
• Strong customer-centric approach and communication.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sourcing of products for customer requests.
• Ensure all requests are dealt with and that customers receive feedback.
• Oversee that all customer requests are followed through to ensure a great customer experience.
• Assist with arranging movement of stock between stores and warehouses.
• Liaise with stores, warehouses and suppliers to fulfill requests.
• Communicate professionally and promptly with customers about requests.
• Recommend alternative products to customers.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of supplier ranging.
• Source suppliers and build relationships; negotiate price/quantity.
• Adapt to varying customer needs across regions.
• Provide weekly reporting on customer requests to managers.
• Assist merchandise team with ad hoc duties.

The person will be required to assist stores in sourcing products for any customer requests and ensuring that the correct follow through has occurred to ensure the request has been filled. The position will report into the Buying Manager.

Duties include

• Assist with sourcing of products for customer requests.
• Ensure all requests are dealt with and that the customers have received feedback.
• Oversee that all customer requests are being followed through to ensure the Absolute Pets customer experience.
• Assist with arranging movement of stock between stores and or warehouses for customers.
• Liaising with stores, warehouses, and suppliers to fulfil requests.
• Professional and prompt communication with customers about any requests.
• Recommend alternative products to customers.
• Up to date knowledge of supplier ranging.
• Sourcing suppliers and build and maintaining relationships.
• Negotiating price and quantity with suppliers
• Adapting to various customer needs across regions.
• Weekly reporting on customer requests to managers
• Assist merchandise team with ad hoc duties.
