Job summary

Addiction Pet Foods in Te Puke, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand, is seeking an Extrusion Operator to run and monitor pet food production lines, with extrusion as the primary focus and hands-on involvement across batching, loading and packing.

You will follow SOPs, GMP/HACCP and safety requirements, perform in-process checks, maintain traceability, and support housekeeping and basic equipment care. A strong safety mindset and commitment to quality are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years extrusion experience in food, pet food, or FMCG manufacturing.
• Adherence to GMP/HACCP and safety procedures is required.
• SOP-driven with attention to traceability and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Run routine start-ups, changeovers, operations and shutdowns on extrusion lines using SOPs and checklists.
• Monitor process parameters (temperature, moisture, pressure, speed, weights) and adjust within approved limits; escalate non-routine changes.
• Maintain material flow and correct batch/recipe sequencing from raw materials to finished goods.
• Weigh/load ingredients and packaging materials per formulations and pick lists.
• Coordinate with Warehouse/Logistics to prevent line stoppages and support efficient changeovers.
• Participate in shift handovers and maintain accurate downtime and parameter logs.
