Job summary

Au Pair Extraordinaire in Johannesburg is seeking a PERSONAL ASSISTANT & AU PAIR for a 12-year-old daughter and a 14-year-old son. The role runs Monday–Friday (40 hours/week) with a monthly salary of R16,000–R18,000 plus petrol allowance.

Start mid-January 2027 on a permanent contract, based in Morningside. Responsibilities include general admin support and caring for children, collecting from school, transporting to activities, helping with homework, and feeding back to parents daily or weekly.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience within the last 2 years.
• Must have own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
• Must have 2 contactable childcare references.
• Must have a clear criminal record.
• Must have a passion for children.
• Must have South African ID document.

Responsibilities

Duties:

Personal Assistant: Assist the family with general administrative and personal assistant duties [Eg: Grocery Shopping, making appointments, run general errands etc.].

Au Pair: Collect the children from school, transport them to extracurricular activities, assist with homework, arrange playdates where appropriate, help establish structure and routines, and provide the parents with daily or weekly feedback on the family's activities.

Requirements: Zulu speaking would be a bonus, but it is not essential

Start date: mid-January 2027 start – permanent contract

Salary: R16 000 - R18 000 per month (gross, before deductions) + SARS rates per km (R4.95)

• Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.
• Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
