Job summary

Old Mutual Life Assurance Company (SA) Ltd in Johannesburg seeks a Performance Management Consultant to design and implement the performance management framework, processes, and tools that drive individual and organizational effectiveness.

You will partner with HR, business partners, and employees to embed continuous feedback, accountability, and development, manage goal setting and calibration cycles, analyze data, and optimize digital performance tools such as Workday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in HR or consulting roles with a strong focus on performance management.
• Experience designing and implementing performance frameworks in complex, matrixed organizations.
• Strong knowledge of performance management methodologies (OKRs, SMART goals, 9-box, balanced scorecard).
• Excellent facilitation, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in HRIS and performance management tools (Workday).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide input into performance management frameworks, processes, and KPIs aligned with strategy.
• Lead end-to-end implementation of performance management cycles (goal setting, mid-year and year-end reviews, calibrations).
• Analyze performance data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
• Design and deliver training resources on performance management best practices.
• Support change management to embed a performance-oriented mindset across the organization.
• Collaborate with HRIS/IT to optimize digital performance management tools.
