About the Role

Our client, a highly successful elite sports team based in Klerksdorp, North West , is seeking a dedicated and data-driven Performance Analyst. This role is integral to the team's success, focusing on collecting, analysing, and interpreting performance data to provide actionable insights for coaches and athletes. The Performance Analyst will work closely with the coaching staff to enhance individual and team performance, identify strategic opportunities, and contribute to game planning. This position requires a blend of technical expertise in data analysis and a deep understanding of sports science and tactical game play. Key Responsibilities

• Collect, process, and manage performance data from training sessions and competitive matches using various tracking technologies and software.
• Analyse individual player and team performance metrics, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and trends.
• Prepare comprehensive performance reports, visualizations, and presentations for coaches and athletes.
• Provide real-time feedback during matches and training where applicable.
• Assist in the development of player and team strategies based on data-driven insights.
• Collaborate with strength and conditioning coaches to align physical preparation with performance data.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in sports performance analysis.
• Maintain a high level of data integrity and confidentiality.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Data Science, Statistics, Kinesiology, or a related field.
• A Master's degree is advantageous.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Performance Analyst in an elite sports environment.
• Proficiency with performance analysis software (e.g., Hudl, Sportscode, Nacsport) and statistical analysis tools (e.g., R, Python).
• Strong understanding of sports biomechanics, physiology, and tactical principles relevant to the sport.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
• Experience with video analysis and tagging techniques.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines, especially during competition seasons.
• Must be based in or able to commute to Klerksdorp, North West .
