Zusammenfassung

FEM is seeking an Operational Accountant to join the Operational Finance team in Johannesburg. You will oversee pension and claims accounting, ensuring accuracy, governance and regulatory compliance.

The role supports reconciliations, reporting and audit requirements while contributing to overall financial integrity. Reporting to the Operational Finance Manager, the ideal candidate has 3–4 years in financial accounting with COIDA exposure preferred and strong Excel/ACCPAC/ERP skills.

Qualifikationen

• Knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial systems.
• Understanding of balance sheet reconciliations and payment controls.

• Validate pension awards and related calculations per policies.
• Review pension and claims-related payments for accuracy and compliance.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations and resolve variances.
• Process journals and maintain audit trails.
• Prepare management reports and commentary on pension/claims expenditure.
• Support month-end/year-end activities and audits.
