Job summary

Betway Africa is seeking a SA Payroll Supervisor to lead day-to-day payroll delivery across the group’s South African entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. You will validate changes in Workday and PaySpace, oversee reconciliations, and support audits while coordinating with HR and Finance on changes to hires and remuneration.

The role requires a payroll qualification or diploma, 5+ years’ experience including 2 years in a supervisory capacity, and strong Excel/ERP integration

Qualifications

• Relevant payroll qualification or diploma or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years’ hands-on payroll experience with 2+ years in a senior/supervisory role.
• Strong PaySpace experience with validation, reporting and issue resolution.
• Working knowledge of Workday master data validation and HR-to-pay data dependencies.
• Experience in multi-entity payroll environments and SA tax rules.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day payroll delivery across SA entities for accuracy and timeliness.
• Coordinate end-to-end monthly payroll timetable and deadlines.
• Validate inputs against Workday and PaySpace before processing and sign-off.
• Review payroll registers and ensure compliance with policies and laws.
• Investigate discrepancies and document resolutions for timely closure.
• Oversee payroll-to-general-ledger reconciliations and tax payments.
• Ensure audit-ready payroll records and support internal/external audits.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance on hires, terminations and changes.
• Coach and develop payroll team; promote accountability and knowledge sharing.
