Absolute Pets in Cape Town seeks a Financial Accountant on a maternity cover until 31 May 2027. The role focuses on payroll processing and supporting financial operations across reporting and reconciliations.

You will handle payroll hours, clocking issues, time registers, OT approvals, staff changes, and payroll-related queries, while contributing to stock and departmental reporting and credit card processing.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll hours from rosters and clocking.
• Compile clocking issue reports from Think Time and rosters.
• Prepare time register reports and reconcile leave discrepancies.
• Review clocking feedback and adjust hours.
• Maintain records of sundry deductions, garnishees, staff loans and advances.
• Handle new hires and terminations processing – clocking and backpay.
• Reconcile payroll-related GL accounts monthly.
• Prepare staff turnover reports.
• Record keeping of overtime applications and approvals.
• Manage payroll related queries and payroll bank reconciliation.
• Resolve insurance claims and assist with finance admin and ad-hoc projects.
• Weekly/Monthly reporting: stock, price changes, scorecards and departmental checks.
• Credit card processing, reporting and reconciliation; renewals/cancellations.
