Job summary

iqbusiness is seeking an experienced Project Manager with payments experience for contracting opportunities in Johannesburg. The role involves hands-on delivery of payments-related projects within banking/financial services, liaising with business, technology and vendors to drive initiatives from initiation to implementation.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years PM experience, BCM/FS background, and strong stakeholder and risk management skills across Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Project Management experience in banking or financial services.
• Experience delivering payments-related projects (card payments, merchant acquiring, payment acceptance or contactless).
• Strong stakeholder, risk and dependency management skills.
• Experience delivering technology and business change initiatives.
• Experience working in Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from initiation through execution and close-out.
• Engage with business stakeholders, delivery teams and sponsors throughout the lifecycle.
• Define objectives, delivery approaches and success measures.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules and dependency trackers.
• Coordinate activities across business and technology teams for successful delivery.
• Monitor and manage risks, issues and dependencies; escalate when required.
• Track progress and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Facilitate project meetings, workshops and governance forums.
• Support budget tracking, resource planning and delivery reporting.
• Ensure project documentation and lessons learned are completed at closure.
