Job summary

IQ Business Group invites an experienced Project Manager with Payments domain expertise for contract opportunities in Johannesburg. The role requires leading payments-related projects from initiation to implementation, coordinating business, technology and vendor stakeholders.

You will manage plans, timelines, risks and dependencies in Agile, Waterfall or hybrid environments, facilitate governance forums, monitor budgets, and ensure proper documentation and lessons learned at project close.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience in banking or financial services.
• Experience delivering payments-related technology and business change.
• Card payments, merchant acquiring, or contactless payments knowledge.
• Strong stakeholder, risk, and dependency management skills.
• Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments.
• Matric is essential; degree or diploma advantageous; Agile certifications helpful.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from initiation through execution and close-out.
• Engage with business stakeholders and project sponsors throughout lifecycle.
• Assist with defining objectives, delivery approaches and success measures.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, timelines and dependency trackers.
• Coordinate activities across business and technology teams to support delivery.
• Monitor and manage project risks, issues and dependencies; escalate as needed.
• Track project progress and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Facilitate project meetings, workshops and governance forums.
• Support budget tracking, resource planning and delivery reporting.
• Ensure project documentation, handover activities and lessons learned at closure.
