Absa Group seeks a Head of Engineering – Commercial Payments to define and drive the engineering strategy across merchant acquiring, POS, e‑commerce, QR payments and digital wallets. You will lead architecture, development, testing, deployment and production support for high‑volume transaction processing in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering or related field.
• Significant technology leadership experience in banking/payments or regulated environments.
• Strong experience in end‑to‑end solution architecture, software delivery and platform modernisation.

Responsabilités

• Lead the engineering strategy, architecture, design and delivery for Commercial Payments platforms.
• Provide cross‑functional leadership with CIO, product owners, security, risk and infrastructure.
• Drive DevSecOps, cloud adoption, data‑driven operations and AI-enabled engineering capabilities.
